How Are Dallas LGBT Businesses Combating Discrimination? By Dan Atkerson on February 15, 2017

According to the Dallas News, Texas lawmakers are considering a proposed bathroom bill similar to the legislation in North Carolina. That legislation limits transgender individuals to using the public bathroom that corresponds to their biological sex. In response, LGBT business owners in Dallas have begun joining forces to fight back against the proposed Texas bathroom law.

How Do LGBT Businesses Plan to Fight Back Against the Texas Bathroom Law?

The LGBT business owners are forming coalitions to combat discrimination in Dallas and its surrounding communities. The president and CEO of the North Texas GLBT Chamber of Commerce wrote an editorial opposing the Texas bathroom law. The North Texas GLBT Chamber of Commerce is at the center of area LGBT business owners’ efforts to come together to protect the rights of members of the LGBT community.

The North Texas GLBT Chamber of Commerce is seeking to be the driving force behind efforts to oppose workplace, sexual, and gender discrimination in Dallas and throughout North Texas. In addition, the chamber is reaching out to other LGBT-friendly organizations in Texas to encourage them to join the fight.
