Stan Lee’s Former Assistant is Suing for Mental Abuse

Stan Lee, the man behind Spider-Man, the Incredible Hulk, the X-Men and other Marvel favorites, has been accused of being a super villain, or at least a terrible boss. The comic book king has been named as a defendant, along with other members of his family, in a lawsuit filed by his former assistant, Shawn Lukaszewicz.

Lukaszewicz’s lawsuit states that the Lees did not pay him what he was owed and fired him when he demanded that they pay him what they owed him.

The suit also alleges that Lee, his wife Joan, and his daughter JC, were verbally and emotionally abusive during Lukaszewicz’s eight-month employment. Lukaszewicz has claimed that Lee and his family repeatedly and continuously berated him with insults and threats. He says that he was commonly referred to as a “f----ing idiot” and an “a--hole.” He also states that there were even threats of firing him for “kidnapping Stan Lee” on one occasion.

Lukaszewicz says that the abuse he sustained during his stint with the Lees have left him mentally and emotionally injured. He claims that the distress has caused a number of health problems, including depression, anxiety, headaches, high blood pressure, insomnia, diminished cognitive ability, nausea, and bowel movement issues.

Kirk Schenck, JC’s attorney, has said of the lawsuit that it “should never have been filed and will likely quickly be dismissed.” JC filed her own lawsuit against Lukaszewicz in July, accusing him of committing fraud, breach of contract, and even wrongfully imprisoning her. JC says that Lukaszewicz refused to let her get out of the car he had driven her to an airport in until she paid him what was owed.
