What Should I Do If My Employer Ignores Sexual Harassment Complaints? By Dan Atkerson on February 22, 2017

A report in the SE Texas Record brought attention to an unacceptable situation that took place at a harbor towing company involving a female employee whose sexual harassment complaints were allegedly ignored. The female employee has filed a sexual harassment lawsuit in response to her claims that her harassment complaints were falling on deaf ears.

Per the report in the SE Texas Record, while working for a maritime towing business, an engineer that worked for the company repeatedly sexually harassed the female employee. The woman claims that eventually the engineer’s verbal advances escalated, leading to sexually assaulting her. She alleges that she filed complaints about the incidents with her supervisor and management and that the company did nothing to stop the harassment and abuse.

How Can I Fight Back If Someone Sexually Harassed Me at Work?

In many cases, the best way to bring a negligent employer to justice is to file a sexual harassment claim against them. Through a sexual harassment lawsuit, victims can raise awareness about inappropriate treatment that employees are enduring at the workplace, hold their employer financially accountable for their pain and suffering and help prevent others from having to endure similar harassment in the future.
